Waitng for TGV from charles de gaulle

Could anyone point me in the direction of a great place, big happening bar, with maybe a kids area, where we could have something to eat have a few beers in a family atmosphere, whilst we wait for the TGV from Charles De Gaulle to Dijon. We got like , 7 hours to kill. Anyone know of anywhere that is close by? I have no idea what is in the vicinity of the airport and the TGV train station. And while im at it how far is terminal 2C from the TGV train staton?

2C is the same building as the TGV station.

There is really nothing to do at the airport. Of course, you will find various places to eat and drink. To entertain the kids, just ride the loop of the CDGVal rail shuttle again and again...

There are restaurants and shops in the terminal -- but before you ask -- no, you don't have time to go into Paris, and unfortunately there's really nothing close to the airport that would be worth storing the luggage, finding a cab, etc., etc., etc.

here's a link to all of the terminal maps:

No worries thanks..I guess living in Brisbane our airport is quite central and its easy to zip out to a nice bar / kids parks in the abrs and stuff..Anyways, looks like we will have 7 hours of hell..

Look at the bright side...you can take your time going through customs and baggage claim (let all the folks who have a tight connection and all the people who think they're more important than the rest of the world go first. Freshen up (put a change of clothes and your toilet kit on the top of your bag or in your carryon so they're easy to get to) you'll be amazed how much better you'll feel even if you just brush your teeth and wash your face! Have a good cup of coffee and a decent breakfast/lunch (because the warmed over flat croissant and sock-water coffee don't count as decent)...walk around and stretch your legs a bit.

There are some play areas in the terminals: aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/…

Perhaps check some hotels for day rates? At least you'd have a room to relax in instead of a terminal...

Disney land is not far - even if you don't go in there are shops outside it. I think there are shuttle buses from CDG

Disneyland IS far --at least an hour each way, if traffic is good.

There's unfortunately not enough time for the OP to leave the airport.

according to one of the experts you can go by train and it takes 10 minutes. Not cheap but possible maybe.

If your train tickets are exchangeable, it would be much easier to just go to Gare de Lyon in Paris and take an earlier train to Dijon. Beats waiting around the airport for 7 hours. There are direct Air France buses to Gare de Lyon, or an ultra simple RER B to RER D connection at Gare du Nord to get there (just have to get off the train and walk to the other side of the same platform).

I would for sure be thinking of heading into Paris and taking the TGV from Gare de Lyon. It might be worth checking fares at www.tgv-europe.com even if you have already purchased tickets.

The TGV to DLP does indeed take about 10 minutes to make the trip but the trains are very infrequent. It's not like you just head to the station and grab a train. The same thing would be true for the return trip. I can't see this as a viable option. Also the least expensive advance purchase one way fare is €17 and the walk-up fare is around €35 IIRC.
