Carnet for the metro...clarification needed

I am going with my husband and 3 children, ages 9, 7, and 4. I think the carney will be our best bet but I need to clarify some things:

Is each ticket one way (so we would get 5 trips per carney)?

Do the children pay a reduced fare?

Thanks for any help.

A carnet is a packet of ten tickets, each valid for one journey. Price is 20% discount versus individual tickets.

You can share the tickets (not the individual tickets, the packet of tickets).

For children 4 - under 10, carnets are half price.

You shouldn't think in terms of round trips, as you'll likely be going from here to there, etc., then back to where you're staying. And, you'd want to resist the urge to walk rather than ride when everyone is exhausted to "save" tickets for when you really need them, or whatever.
