Food and drinks to try in Paris

We like different kind of meat (espesially not traditional chicken/pork), fish, seefood and don't like too much vegatables.

What dishes would recommend to try in France?

I've heard only about Foie gras .

Same question about drinks. Especially beer, as we will be in France in middle of summer

SInce you love meat, I recommend trying Confit de canard. For seafood, a seafood platter and moules frites (mussels).

Moules can be made with different sauces (white wine, cream, etc) and they are all very tasty, especially if you head north to Normandy.

Escargot (snails) is of course very French.

Steak Tartare, foie de veau (calf's liver)...the possibilities are endless. Do some research online or look through a French cuisine cookbook. Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles cookbook has a lot of such classics.

don't count out a traditional poulet roti or roti de porc -- not just your ordinary chicken or pork.

My favorite beer in Paris is Leffe Brune which is difficult to find, but Les Philosophes in the Marais has it on tap.

I like Kronenbourg 1664, which is brewed in Alsace and readily available all over France.

The best moules frites I've ever had can be found at:

Academie de bière, 88 bis Boulevard Port Royal in the 5th arrondissement, a short walk from the Port Royal RER stop.

They also have the biggest selection of beers in France:

Click on the tabs under the "Faites votre sélection :" to see the lists.

My friend loves Desparados, probably for the name, and we both stop at the Brasseris D'Ile St Louis and have a pot de their Alsacian beer.
