First trip to Europe! Need loding advice

I have 10 days flying into London from LA 20 Sept and have 10 days. Both in and out of LA are through London so I have to get back there in the end.

Solo tripping and first time using my passport!

Thought I might divide 1/2 London and 1/2 Paris.

Deciding how to travel (plane or train) to Paris......London first then Paris then London for a day and back home is what I thought. Any thoughts?

And where to stay? Would people recommend B&B's in Paris? Some seem nice per TA reviews. Wondering if thats a better idea than hotel? I am not a hostel person.

Any recs are great thanks!

Definitely take the Eurostar. It goes from city center to city center. No need for airport transportation. Just know that the earlier you book, the less expensive your ticket will be. See eurostar.com. And btw, second class is perfectly comfortable; no need of paying for first class.

Stay in a hotel in the 5th or 6th, near the river. B&B's aren't particularly popular in Paris, and don't generally get good reviews. I stay in apartments in Paris, so I'll leave it to others to recommend a hotel.

PS. Have fun!

HI

You've left it very late, both for booking Paris hotels, and the Eurostar. You need to book the train as soon as possible to get cheaper fares. September is one of the busiest months for hotels in Paris (trade fairs) so you need to get booking as soon as possible. I don't know about London hotels.

Yes, you have to have something booked soon. If you would consider a hotel, you could try these to see if you like them and if they have vacancy.

The first 3 are in the Saint-Germain area, the last is at the Eiffel Tower in the 15th.

You really should book a hotel room forthwith. September is a very, very, busy month for Paris hotels.

I am very far from being a Paris, or Paris hotels expert, I had my first trip last year, but I had a look at at your link, and if I had to choose from that list my 1st choice would be Jardin de l'Odeon.

I like the area, good place for a first visit. I like the decor, OMG the lobby of the Design Sorbonne would give me a headache every time I went in, but mostly I love the little courtyard.

The others are fine, read the review's, this is just my opinion.

My best advice is, get a guide book, look at maps, and, if you have time, read the trip reports at the top of this forum. I learned so much from them.
