Paris address

We have been offered a House Exchange for 2 weeks at rue Vigee Lebrun Montparnasse 75015 Paris

Is anyone able to advise me if this is a suitable position to see Paris.....for example close to metro stations...easy walking distances to points of interest.

If you go to maps.google.com and put in the address, you can see where the house is. See http://g.co/maps/n2k9s

It would be 1.5 blocks walk to Volontaires metro station on Line 12: you would need to change lines to get to almost all of the major sights. Apart from the Montparnasse Tower, there are no major sights within easy walking distance.

It's not the prettiest street in Paris, and as sydneynick says, it's not within in short walking distance of the major sights, but it is conveniently located for some great bus routes that will take you all over Paris. You're also near metro line 6 (Pasteur station) which gives you a few more options for metro connections.

This transport map might be useful.

You're on the edge of the 14th arrondissement here, near the Montparnasse district, and there's no shortage of great cafes and places to eat around there. A few museums nearby, too. It's also not too far to walk to the Vaugirard/Convention area which has some nice streets - mostly residential, nothing too exciting, but again lots of cafes and restos and it's a pleasant area to explore.

It wouldn't be my first choice of street on which to stay but for a house swap offering "free" accommodation, I'd consider it seriously - unless a better offer comes along!

It's a purely residential area and there's absolutely nothing particular to see around but it's very safe, clean, in central paris, not far from metro and buses. Even if it is in the non-touristy part of central Paris, Paris isn't that big and the transport system is very dense and efficient. For a house swap, if the apartment fits your needs, I think that this is a very good location.
