Picard frozen food favorites?

I have learned there is a Picard very close to where we are staying for an upcoming visit. Their products sound like a good option for meals that are quick and will offset the costs of restaurant visits.

Which main courses, side dishes, desserts does Picard do especially well? What should be avoided?

Merci

I don't know where to begin, but I will say that one of my personal favorites is the tartare de saumon, which I absolutely love with warm boiled potatoes.

Their venison is excellent; delicious steaks to grill. I also love their broad beans.

I don't think I've bought anything I wasn't happy with.

I like their their tarte au citron and moelleux au chocolat.

Since bagels are hard to find in my region, I enjoy their bagels.

I like all of their shellfish.

Their small pain aux figues rolls are fabulous. In fact, so are their other pre-cooked rolls.

Sounds like a step up from the Swanson "Hungry Man" line of frozen dinners!!

Yikes, Picard's food is far better than any frozen item I have ever bought in the USA.

I don't particularly like their vegetables soups.. Too watery tasting for me.

This month, we are crazy about their thai vegetable soup. I add a squeeze of lemon, handful of coriander and a spoonful of hot sauce.

Otherwise, most of my Picard purchases are the organic vegetables, and flash frozen seafood.

I can't believe the wonderful array of frozen foods here. I am ready to dump my "fresh is best" motto.

Funny Kay !

Fresh is still best. Picard is a great standby (IMO) when you are too tired to go out to eat and too tired to cook.

toutou, You don't like Trader Joe's taquitos? We had a particular fondness for them. In fact, a few of the Picard ethnic dishes seem to come from the same kitchens as the Trader Joe's stuff.

I don't remember having any really bad experience with any product there, though the desserts are not their strong point (anyway, you'll have much fresher choice in boulangeries on that side).

I particularily like their dim sum range, great to do vapour-style in an oisery basket!
