Yes, you will need to show passports etc. Not as rigourous as the airlines, but they will check.

You go through British and French Passport Control at St Pancras (London) before you get on the train. You need to be at St Pancras at least 30 minutes before the Eurostar departure time.

Yes, the control is before boarding in London. In Paris all you have to do is walk off the train.

There is normally no British passport control for outgoing travellers leaving the United Kingdom. Passport control at St Pancras is carried out by French immigration officers for entry to the Schengen Area.

Yes. French immigration officers carry out passport control for entry to the Schengen Area before you get on the train.

They will check that you have a visa for the Schengen Area if you need one.

They may ask you the reason for your visit and whether you have enough money to support yourself.

They may ask you to provide evidence, e.g. hotel booking letters, credit cards, etc.

If you had to obtain a Schengen visa, they may ask you to show the same documents you had to provide with your visa application.

There is normally no passport check by UK Border Agency officers on outgoing travellers.
