Are we able to pick which boat to board? are they all available at any given time? different prices?
in my experience there is a particular boat launching at a particular time and they put the boat on that fits the expected crowd at that time -- we had no choice of boat -- one was leaving at the time we chose
we had a voucher pre-paid before we went to Paris and used it on a nice night and sat outside towards the front, in front of the bridge
Janettravels is correct: they only launch one boat at a time. I like Vedettes du Pont Neuf a lot, I've taken a dozen rides over the years with them...and buying the tickets on-line in advance means you save money, and you get to hop on to a boat at your convenience, you aren't locked into a particular day/time.
If you go or come back from this when it's light, walk around the Square du Vert Gallante for the views of the Right and Left Banks and the flowers...
The Tower sparkles each hour on the hour after dark and it goes on for about 5 minutes.
If you're lucky, Tour Eiffel will sparkle while you are on the boat. What a beautiful site!!
As others have advised, purchase your tickets online for 8Euro and save some money. Also, you aren't locked into a day or time.
Are these boats at all overcrowded? I'm hoping for great picture taking possibilities!
I think it depends on the season. In March it was not overcrowded. In April it was not overcrowded but I can't answer for the busy tourist months.
Thanks for the response. I'm planning to take the trip in mid-June.
