Getting to Gare de Lyon from Gare Du Nord
Save

Greetings,

I am staying at the Lyon Bastille, 3 Rue Parrot, 75012 Paris on the last week of April. I arrive into Gare Du Nord at 1040 hrs in the morning and I need to get to Gare du Lyon to the hotel. Please can someone suggest the best way to do this.

Cheers !!

Perhaps the only way that you can connect between the tow station directly (no chenges en route) is by #65 bus (heading in the direction of Gare de Lyon) All of the Metro connections require at least one train change en route.

The simplest mode will be to simply take a TAXI PARISIEN from the regular taxi rank outside Gare du Nord to your hotel (approx fare 10€)

No, actually there is a direct underground link between the two stations: RER D.

Many thanks KDK and Bob. Please advise that if there is an underground link, RER D, how do I access this?

Well, just follow the signs at Gare du Nord saying, first, RER, then, RER D... If you arrive at Gare du Nord by TGV, Thalys or Eurostar, go to the left as you exit your train and cross the whole station, you'll be at the RER wing of it. Don't forget to stop at the "Transilien" (it's RATP + SNCF) window and buy a carnet of métro tickets. For an intra-Paris RER destination, a normal métro ticket is valid.

With apologies to the original enquirer....YES...of course you're right. The RER 'D' ligne does connect directly between Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord I seem to have this persistent '..blind spot..' (perhaps caused by a bizarre form of RATP color-coding blindness or the sharp turn at Chatelet) wherever the RER 'D' ligne is concerned.

I'm flying in to Charles De Gaulle and need to get to Gare De Lyon. Should I take the RER to Gard du Nord and then the RER D connector or is there a more direct route from this airport to Gare De Lyon? Thanks!!!

As far as I can make out from a website about getting around in Paris and a map of the RER, the route on RER D from Gare du Nord is direct to Gare de Lyon - only two stops.

Have I got it all wrong?
