Personally I would park the car outside the city and stay in Paris proper. It's so much easier to pop back to the hotel to freshen up, for example.

We have driven the A13 towards Paris on several occasions, and found the best place to park is Parking le Chateau at St Germain en Laye. The underground secure car park is next door to the RER station, so it;s an easy trip into Paris.

If the link doesn't work, do a search on www.vincipark.com, for St Germain en Laye.

Good luck

We certainly didn't book - don't know if that's even possible. Maybe others will know.

Yes it's underground. From what I remember, it has about 4 levels. Think of it as the complete opposite of the multi-storey car parks we have. You don't need to surface to get to the RER as it's linked.

Issy les Moulineaux is a decent town, with a good Vinci car park at Hotel de Ville adjacent to the Métro (line 12). It's about 30 minutes by Métro to central Paris. Also, the Ibis hotel is outside the town centre and not well placed for the Métro.

I'd be inclined to choose a hotel in central Paris, and then use the Vinci site to choose a car park that's easy to drive to. You won't be able to book a place for only a few nights, and there's a risk that a car park near a busy Métro or RER station may be full by mid-morning. I've encountered that problem at Issy and also at Vincennes. So be prepared with alternative car parks in the area.

Well done you! Looks perfect for your needs.

If you can approach from the peripherique rather than Charles de Gaulle / Etoile (Arc de Triomphe) you will do yourself a favour. We found ourselves driving round the Arc due to a navigational faux-pas on the part of yours truly, and I wouldn't recommend it!
