Public transport directions from CDG airport, please?

Hi there

We are staying at Hotel Holiday Inn Paris Gare Montparnasse for three nights and wondered if there is a train from CDG that we could use? Or even a shuttle? When I've been before it seems there are limited cheap transport options and I'd really like avoid the 80 Euro cab fare.

Many thanks for any ideas!

Ingrid.

Air France runs a bus service from CDG to Gare Montparnasse. One-way tickets are E15.50 online or E17 from the driver. See http://www.lescarsairfrance.com/en.html

However, a taxi would cost around E60 rather than E80.

You have 2 options:

The shuttle car AIr france, will take you to Montparnasse (17€/pers)

you will find them in

Terminal 1 : gate 32

Terminal 2D-2B : gate B1

Or RER B(about 8 or 9 €) and change at Chatelet les Halles to take line 4 to Montparnasse Bienvenue

Good luck

This page will give you access to information about public transport from Charles de Gaulle to the Centre of Paris:

ratp.fr/en/ratp/r_61596/access-to-airports/

Shuttles in Paris tend to be unreliable.

RER B to Denfert Rochereau (follow "Trains to Paris" sign) then Metro line 6 heading to Etoile, stop at Pasteur: 9.25 EUR (could also use Metro line 4, stop at Montparnasse but a bit more walking). There really are plenty of options in fact: ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ratp/recherche-avancee

A cab fare should be closer to 50 euros anyway, unless you have a ton of luggage and members in your party.

(Do not use the "S word" on the TA Paris forum for fear of triggering unending debates... :D)

Take a taxi. If you can afford to visit Paris, you can afford to pay for a taxi to and from the airport, and the convenience of a taxi before or after a long flight with luggage outweighs the false economy of struggling with other modes of transportation.

If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Montparnasse located at 79/81 Avenue Du Maine, the closest metro station is Gaite (rather than Montparnasse or Pasteur).

If you will be able to easily manage your bags and other belongings on long walks, escalators, stairs, getting through turnstiles, RER/Metro would be the most economical but require two transfers.

With Air France coach, your bags are stored and you ride in a comfortable modern coach bus. The stop at Gare Montparnasse is opposite the Pullman (hotel) and about a 10 minute walk from the Holiday Inn.

We arrive in Terminal 2A and according to the Air France site the exit at Gate C2 is under repair and closed.......How long should it take to walk to Terminal 2B-2D and get the bus at Gate B1? Also where is the TI in relationship to where we get the Air France bus at B1?

Terminal 2A is connected to 2B with an underground passage, 5-10min. walk, just follow signs for 2B. Overview of the terminals: aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/Resources/29359db2-7…

Yes djk, but a/ Gaité requires two transfers indeed, and b/ it stands on the dreaded line 13 :D (seems to have more than its fair share of break down, in my experience). I'd rather walk an extra 50 or 100 m for the convenience of a more pratical itinerary. In terms of easiness, nothing beats the bus indeed in the present case
