Are you asking about where to buy affordable shoes? Also close-close to your lodging- where are you staying? Also what do you consider not expensive (for instance 120€ and less)?

If you are wanting somewhere there are plenty of clothing and footwear shops, there is a very large shopping mall at La Defense www.les4temps.com You can get there easily on Metro Line 1 or RER A

The Forum des Halles shopping mall is very popular (metro/RER Chatelet-Les Halles) but the area looks a bit of a mess at the moment due to massive re-construction works (the mall itself is underground and still operating normally) There are also a lot of shops on rue de Rivoli (metro Chatelet or Hotel de Ville)

For really unexpensive clothes : hypermarkets, H&M, Tati or the small shops you find in every shopping area, and that all seem to sell the same "made in China" one-size-fits-all (if you're young and slim) stuff. C&A for better quality and slightly older style.

Unexpensive shoes : same kind of made-in-china shops, or markets, for shoes you'll wear half a year at best.

If you say where you'll be staying, it woudl be easier to point one or two streets in your area where you'll find a range of styles and prices.

Normal Parisians rely on a variety of chain stores. Are you looking for women's clothing or men's clothing?

Flore, for future reference: the word is "inexpensive" not "unexpensive."

Alfa, there are only Parisians in English. In French, there are parisiens and parisiennes.
