Christmas Day

Traveling with a group and my assignment is to plan Christmas Day in Paris 2012. Thought I would start with Mass Christmas Eve at ND. I know it will be more than hetic. But I need help with the 25th:

Will I need a reservation for Four Season's at LeBar for a light dinner?

What else can we do to fill the day? All recommendations appreciated.

Not meaning to sound rude or anything Lori P, but are you serious? You would need to book your local 10 bed hotel about a year in advance, but the Four Seasons in Paris on Christmas Day?!! You will be luckier than a lucky penny landing on a lucky clover on a lucky day at Lucksville.

Here's a link to Notre Dame and CE service details. Again unless you go very early, you will be lucky to get in.

I would suggest you contact them. This is their website :

fourseasons.com/paris/dining/lounges/le_bar/

This link tells you what will be open on 25th. It was for last year, but is still valid:

3. Re: Christmas Day

as far as how to fill the rest of the day it's a bit hard to answer as it depends on what's the plan for the other days.

I think Christmas Day is a great time to roam around - for example, Tuileries, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Seine River banks...

Eiffel Tower will be open. Musee Pompidou (which is a great museum, and will have the Dali exhibit at that time, I believe). Pere Lachaise.

Maybe some of the other churches - St. Sulpice, St. Eustache, Ste. Chapelle, etc. And a Christmas market to drink some vin chaud.

Musée Pompidou is closed on Christmas Day because XMas is on a Tuesday in 2012

Thank you all. My plans are set: we will attend midnight mass at Notre Dame.

Sunday will will visit some of the 5 star hotel bars then head out to a Christmas Concert at one of the lovely churches. Afterwards, we'll zip over to the 13th for Chinese Food.
