Visiting Paris for 2 weeks. Selecting a rental apartment

We are a family of 6 people visiting Paris for two weeks next summer, and are considering renting an apartment.

I have been researching for weeks on recommended rental agencies (parisperfect.com, parisvacationapartments.com, my-apartment-in-paris, rentalfrance.com, friendly rentals, Paris best lodge, alacarte-paris),as well as AirBnB.

Most of the options available that meet our criteria at the rental agencies are well above our budget for the two weeks. Nevertheless, we are not familiar with the locations of the chosen options, and would greatly appreciate your opinion/recommendations on that subject.

In that sense, we would like the apartment to be close to the touristy areas, or at least easily reached by subway. We would also prefer it in a safe neighborhood with groceries, and restaurants in the vicinity. But we really look forward for tranquility at sleep time, and residential preferred over business.

Here the list of what we have come up with:

1.- friendlyrentals.com/en/apartments/paris/apar…

Boulevard Jules Ferry

2.- https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/557246

Rue Truffaut, Paris, Île-de-France 75017,

3.- https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/650533

Rue Lacépède, Paris, Île-de-France 75005,

4.- https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/473503

Rue Leconte de Lisle, Paris, Île-de-France 75016

5.- https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/677114

Rue du 29 Juillet, Paris, Île-de-France 75001

The apartment listed number 2 has the lowest cost, but is also the farthest in the Batignolle District.

Your feedback will help us greatly on choosing our first option!!

Thanks in advance

Jose

Batignolles neighborhood is really nice and not overrun with tourists. Yes, you'd be a few extra metro stations out of "Tourist Central", but the advantage is that everything else will cost less as well - groceries, beverages, corner cafes, nearby restaurants.

I didn't check all the links (one doesn't work), but the Batignolles property looks very well done, especially the kitchen.

Hi Jose,

I'm not familiar with any of the places mentioned above, and not knowing your budget its hard to comment - i have stayed in Paris several times and found a perfect place for up to 4 people, but i know the owner John has serveral more apartments as well, all in great locations and he's been very helpful in the past, both with a medical issue and a cancellation which was dealt with without any drama - give this website a go?

@ djkbooks,

that is very good news on the Batignolles property!! I will check on the broken link. thanks.

@ Kikilim, I would not want to spend above $ 6500 for the Paris apartment, as I need also to consider an additional week in London!! but that is subject for another thread.

I have checked upon http://www.parisholidayapts.com, but all their properties have only one bathroom, and we are requesting 2 bathrooms, which certainly greatly diminishes the options!!

thank you guys

For location, I'd go with number 3 or 5. You're close to sites and the Metro.

However, they are all beautiful and well-appointed, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

@djkbooks,

yes, we have scheduled our trip for the last 2 weeks of August.

All options listed are as of this moment, available and have exchanged words with the properties' owners, responding all our inquiries on such properties.

I feel kind of rushed, as since I began searching a few weeks back, quite a few excellent apartments with great prices have already been taken by others.

well, there is no free lunch!

regards

Jose

This one seems to be available for your dates, and has very good reviews. It might seem quite far from the centre, but the metro is across the street[line 4] and the neighbourhood is great. www.vrbo.com/333752
