In Paris for 2 days on layover....

Does anyone have any recommendations for a single (married but travelling alone) traveler that will be in Paris for 2 days? Any single friendly tour companies that would be fun? Hate the idea of sitting alone at dinner and a show.... but would like to get out and see the city. Thanks for any advice! Dates are May 31 and June 1 and staying at the Westin near the Louvre.

There are some walking tours in Paris that you just show up for at the appointed time and are not expensive - you would be sure to meet some other people and have an opportunity to chat

…compuserve.com/homepages/pariswalking/

This one also has night time bike and segway tours as well as daytime walks

Big tour organisations like http://www.conciergerie.com/main.htm?O=PO have night tours for the usual touristy things like the Moulin Rouge - I am sure there are many others and someone who has taken one might be able to recommend one to you.

Since you will be there on a Thursday afternoon you could even try the "Club Metropole" that a couple of posters have attended
