Walking from Saint-Michel Notre Dame Late at Night

We are thinking about doing a day trip to London. Planning to leave early morning and arriving back in Paris at 11pm or 12am. Is it safe to walk from the Saint-Michel Notre Dame station to our hotel late at night? Our hotel is about 7 minutes away from the station.

Yes, 11 or 12 is not really that late, and the area around St Michele is very lively, so you won't be in a deserted area (if, as you mention, your hotel is in the vicinity). As always, keep an eye on your belongings in the station.

Yes, it's safe, and the area around Saint Michel is very animated even late at night, since it's in the heart of the Latin Quarter.

This is what it looks like at around midnight:

In fact, sometimes it's busier at midnight than it is at 6 PM, but it depends on the day and season.

My hotel is along boulevard saint-Germain if that helps at all.

I neglected to mention that the Place Saint Michel is at around 5:13 in the video. And the stroll is towards the west, which is probably in the direction of your hotel (as there are many hotels in that direction).

You will be fine, both streets you will be walking on are very busy,, not deserted .. I would walk them alone at that hour without a qualm.

Yeah it's safe and lots of people still out and about. I did it alone so you two will be just fine.

We stay in this area every time we go to Paris and, even in the dead of winter, it is lively and full of people. We frequent a jazz bar near there and often are walking back well after midnight. We have never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. You'll love the area!

The only time we saw the area really deserted was when we left the show at Aux Trois Mailletz, which runs from about 11:30 at night until 05:30 in the morning. The streets still had the occasional stroller as we walked across the Petit Pont to our apartment on the Isle. Sort of a neat, quiet, time, actually, with the city just starting to wake up.

Frankly, the only danger is being trampled by the crowds of people there at that time.
