We are going on our first trip to France this summer. I have learned a lot from reading many of the posts on this forum. Thank you all!
I would like some opinions on a good book for us to understand the menu, in other words, what exactly will we be ordering. We are foodies and would be interested in trying traditional french food as long as we know what it is we are ordering. My spouse does not eat pork but likes pate. Ordering a pate without pork may be impossible but at least if we had a guide book to assist us, that would be helpful in making educated decisions.
Also, any recommendations on a map book that I can buy now and carry with us in Paris. Additionally, if there is a good book or app for learning the metro/bus ahead of our trip, this would help us to know what lines we would be taking before we get down into the station. I would like to compare the bus to our various locations versus the train. Any research I could conduct ahead of my trip will make the trip go smoother.
