Wine Tasting Venues??

I plan to be in Paris the third week in August and would like to squeeze in a wine tasting or two. :)

Any suggestions....I believe we will be staying near Notre Dame but doesnt matter where.

Thanks!

O'Chateau in the 1st arrondissement has wine tastings. www.o-chateau.com.

If you are near Notre Dame, then this is a convenient location:

lecluse-restaurant-paris.com/restaurant-l-ec…

It is a wine bar with wines available by the glass--not sure if they have tastings per se (as in "educating" one about the wines).

But it's a great location and very nice atmosphere.

Another very simple way to try a variety of wines is to have a different glass with each course of your dinner rather than order a bottle. Very often, DH and I will each have a different wine from each other, allowing sips of 4 or 5 wines a meal. We have found waitstaff delighted to coordinate our tastes with their offerings and the synergy grows as we discuss their selections with them. (We do eat in small, wine bar type restaurants for the most part.)

La Dernier Goutte, very close up in the sixth, also does wine tastings. You have to check their schedule.

You could head to http://www.bistrotdusommelier.com/ to find good and little-known wine pairing options. Not 100% sure they would be open on your dates though.

Grains Nobles has a good reputation but I have no personal experience; not sure either they will offer anything in August: grainsnobles.fr/content/…

I have been doing a bit of research for my trip and have found this as well as the suggestions already received. It is well rated with trip advisor.
