Visa Requirement from London to Paris and back to London

Hi,

We are from Manila, Philippines. We have a scheduled 12-day trip to London this first week of September.

We are planning to take a visit from London to Paris and back to London for 3 days via Eurotrain. Do we need a Schengen Visa for this? If so, can we get this visa in time while we are in London?

Thanks for the help.

Sorry but that is something you should have checked with the French Embassy in the Philippines. I did some search and it seems you need one to get into France and it is a slow process in your own country.

You may check with your Embassy in London to see if it is doable.

If you carry a Philippine Passport you will need a Schengen Visa. Consult the French and UK Embassies in Manila as to which one gives it to you. It is based on which country you enter first, if I am not mistake. These are the venues you need to contact (the country representatives) to give you the proper answer.

The UK is not part of the Schengen treaty, and so is irrelevant. The OP needs to contact the French consulate in Manilla.

The OP will need to get a visa from the UK as well. There is a protocol as to which entity has to issue the first visa, France or UK depending on where he enters from.

There is no protocol involved, as they are entirely separate visas. Whether a person has a UK visa is irrelevant to applying for a Schengen visa, and vice versa.

I am not going to go into an argument with you, SydneyNick. However, having known people from the Philippines who have had to apply for these visas, I know what is required by the various embassies in the Philippines. "One" will not issue the visa until the "other" has done so. A tip for the OP who needs to get this going ASAP if he/they are scheduled to travel in a week or so.

You will need a multiple entry visa for the UK if you leave the UK and then return to it.

When the OP sees the cost of last-minute Eurostar tickets they may scrap the idea to visit Paris anyway :-)

Aside from the expensive Eurostar last minute fares as pointed out in the above post, good luck on getting hotel accommodations at any price range in Paris as September is a very busy month for hotels in this city (if the OP hasn't done so).
