Walking is difficult with 21 miles of sea to cross. The cheapest way is by bus but it takes forever. The best value is to book a cheap Eurostar ticket, which means you'd have to book 3 or 4 months in advance, and perhaps not be too choosy about the time of your journey. (Popular times are more expensive.) Have a look at www.eurostar.com to explore prices.

There might be some cheap flights, but you've then got to pay for getting to and from the airports, whereas Eurostar is city centre to city centre (Gare du Nord to St Pancras International).

If you book in advance, the Eurostar (train) is the best option because it goes directly from city-center London to city-center Paris. So you have no additional investment (in time or money) in travel to and from airports.

i have read that there is a bus, but it takes a long time--and time is money. I don't think you would pay for a vacation that was basically a long bus ride.

There are cheap airlines, but in addition to fares, you would need to have transport to Heathrow, and transport from CDG into Paris.

Do you have a budget? A time frame?

No point in suggesting the Eurostar if you are planning to go next week and money is tight. No point in promoting the Eurolines coach if you need to get to London quickly.
