Transport question Orly to Marais or Montmatre area -

Six of us are flying from Venice to Paris by EasyJet and can arrive in either Orly or CDG. Looking at maps Orly seems to be closer in than CDG where we have landed the last couple of times. Would Orly be a sensible option to go by either taxi or shuttle to either the Marais area where we are looking at renting an apartment and what would we expect to pay for a shuttle - 60-75 Euros for the trip. Has anyone used MKF Shuttles and are they reliable.

The other option is to use a train from Orly into Paris. Is it a good connection as we found the one from CDG to Montmatre last time we stayed excellent and relatively easy to use.

Look forward to your advice.

Shuttles in Paris have a reputation for unreliability. A taxi would cost maybe €35 to the Marais or €40 to Montmartre.

From Orly by public transport, you take the OrlyVAL shuttle train to Antony station on RER Line B, which is the same line that does to CDG. The detail, of course, depends on the exact address you are heading for.

New Tram service starting Nov 16 th from Orly Sud terminal to Villejuif Louis Aragon Metro station.(Line 7)probably replacing Bus 285.

Can't find info about duration and timetable so far.Certainly much slower than Rer B and C but probably cheaper.

with 6 people from the airport, b y far the most economical choice is taxi whichever airport you use. if your destination is Montmartre, it would be about 45 Euro from CDG plus the added costs of 9 Euro for the 3 passengers above the first three, and 5 or so Euro for luggage. From Orly to the Marais, it would be about 30 Euro plus those added fees.

If you need a cab for 6 TO the airport you would need to arrange for a maxicab but FROM the airports you should have no trouble being assigned one in the regular taxi queue. Public transport will be more expensive for a group this size and a lot less convenient.

Thank you all for your advice. Extremely helpful. Will look to obtain a maxicab at Orly airport once we arrive in June next year. Have managed to fit 4 days in Paris on our way to London so are excited about this as Paris is a lovely vibrant city. We stayed at the Ibis in Montmatre last time we were in Paris and loved Montmatre and found Paris excellent to walk around. Are looking at the Marais area this time as it seems to be closer tosome of the places we want to visit like the Louvre, Notre Dame, D'Orsay Museum and the Seine. We also plan to return yto the Rue Montorgueil Market which we found fascinating unless anyone else recommends a better market . As we are in Paris for 4 days will get a carnet to use on the metro and buses whilst there. We will be leaving for London on the Eurostar.
