Gare du Nord to CDG. How long to allow?

Hi,

We need to be at CDG Terminal 2A for a 20.30 flight on Weds 8/1. As per advice, we'll get a taxi from our hotel in Montmartre to Gare du Nord and the RER B to CDG, in order to avoid any traffic problems.

How long should we allow to reach the terminal from the train arriving? What time would you recommend we get to Gare du Nord?

Many thanks,

Lisa

Travel time from Gare du Nord is about 35 minutes. Trains run about every 10 minutes. The train arrives at a link to the CDGVal if you are going to terminal 1 or directly in the terminal if you are going to terminal 2. If you are going to terminal 3, it is a 400 meter walk from the terminal 1 station.

If you're taking taxi anyway, use it for CDG ride. For 2 of you, not that much more than taxi to GdN and RER tickets to the airport.

Don´t know where you found the advice to take a taxi to Gare du Nord but my advice would be the same as Tesa227´s, take the taxi to the airport, allow 50 minutes.

Thanks.

I was concerned about rush hour traffic if we were aiming to be at the airport for 18.30. The advice was earlier on this forum when I asked if we'd be better getting the train or a taxi for a 20.30 flight.

Do you not think rush hour would be a problem?

While the RER-B is the surest way to get to the airport (time wise), I'd book a taxi (e.g. G7) from the hotel and mention the time you want to be at the airport for - the taxi company will know when to pick you up.

Another option is to check out of the hotel in the morning, put your bags into left luggage at Gare du Nord, do your thing, then pick up bags and take RER-B straight from Gare du Nord to CDG.
