Help! Paris in a day and a half!

Hi guys

Hoping you can help! Myself and my Boyfriend are heading to Paris at the end of the month for a long weekend! Going to be arriving Friday evening and leaving Monday lunchtime! So we know where we want to go but don't know if we can do it all...? We want to visit the Louvre.. Notre Dam... Eiffel Tower... Arc De Triumph/Champs Elysse... And spend Sunday in Disneyland! (That's the plan anyway!)

Is this possible? If so... How much is The Louvre to visit? Do you have to pay to climb the steps of the Eiffel Tower? Are all of these worth doing? We are staying in the Novotel Paris Eiffel Tower..! Walking doesn't bother us in the slightest... And all the forums about the metro and rer is way over my head! Is it easier than it sounds? It's our first time in Paris and want to squeeze in as much as possible so just a few ideas would be really appreciated!!! Thanks!!

Where are you staying?

Yes the louvre and the notre dame are "worth it". Look up prices on their websites. The champs is a boulevard you can salon on and the arc you can walk by and see.

Why would two audiukts waste a day out of 2.5 at Disney ??? Stay in Paris. Walk the river. Take a boat tour. No need for public transportation you can walk depending on where your hotel is.

We spent an hour at the louvre, then walked though the tuileries, stopped for some wine and walked down the champs elysees and up the stairs to the top of the arc de triomphe. I think if you head to the Eiffel tower 30 minutes before opening, and then head to Notre dame, you could accomplish this in a day.

We didn't go up the Eiffel Tower until our third or fourth visit and we had a lot more time on each visit. See the Tower (it's sort of hard to miss), maybe from a river cruise at night (it's beautiful, way better than any ride in Disneyland). Take a taxi ride down the Champs on your arrival and see the Arc lit up at night - no need to go up it or "visit" it.

The Louvre is "worth it" on so many levels. First of all, it's a palace and it is a wonderful building. Be sure to see the Grand Galerie but also the Galerie Apollon (not too far away from Grand Galerie). Visit the rooms behind the Mona Lisa (ceilings alone are amazing). Do not miss Marly and Puget Courts. The Medieval Louvre is worth visiting just on its own. Take breaks every couple of hours - you can do all of this if you look at a map in advance. I figure doing all this (including of course the Leonardo's and Boticelli's in the Grand Galerie area) would take about 4 hours. It costs about 12€. Tuileries is free. :)

Notre Dame is worth visiting and so is nearby Sainte-Chapelle (and wandering over through the Latin Quarter to the Cluny Medieval museum/castle...way better than the castle in Disneyland).

Anyway, Disneyland is about 40-45 minutes outside of Paris once you're on the train; then it's 20-30 minutes to get inside the gate.

I think you have plenty of time to accomplish your goals!

Friday evening:

- See the Eiffel Tower. Go up it, if you want a great view of Paris and the experience. Yes you do have to pay even if you climb the steps.

- Start at Notre Dame

- Walk to the Louvre

- If you want to go inside the museum, spend some time researching what you want to see there first - it's huge and can be overwhelming

- Walk through the courtyards and the Tuileries Gardens

- Continue past Place de la Concorde to Champs Elysees to Arc de Triomphe (it's a straight line of a walk).

- If you have desire/energy, metro to the Latin Quarter and have dinner there - or, go see Sacre Coeur in Montmartre!

- Disneyland

- Eiffel Tower on your way back, if you don't get to it on Friday

- Leave free for a long walk along the Seine or Latin Quarter or Montmartre or Marais

<<all the forums about the metro and rer is way over my head! Is it easier than it sounds?>>

Yes the metro/rer is very simple to use, assuming you are somewhat accustomed to public transport, you won't have problems.

Paris is really compact and easy to explore on foot too, so pack your walking shoes :-)

Enjoy your trip!!!!
