Eat in Paris

Hello,

I am off to Paris for 2 nights on business (Sunday and Monday night). Any recommendations for a good place to eat at night? Somewhere lively where I can eat at the bar preferably.

Thanks!

Go to Parisbymouth.com and click on wine bars at the top....you will get superb recommendations for each arrondisement.....use TA and Google for additional info on those wine bars that are listed.....L'Avant Comptoir, for one, is the perfect example

Any budget, just has to be good! Staying in La Defense as it's near the office but am happy to go anywhere good!

We like to eat at the bar everywhere except in Paris, but the one time we did was at Robert & Louise in the Marais ---> http://robertetlouise.com/ They specialize in grilled meat but their sautéed mushrooms are very good, too.

Eating at the bar is not done at night in Paris and really in not all that many places for lunch.

If you are going to be in La Défense for lunch, there are tons of places attached to the shopping mall and quite a few others scattered around the esplanade. It is really quite a good area to eat at lunchtime. In the evening, I would probably prefer to eat in the vast circular space at the base of the UGC Ciné Cité megaplex -- there are about a dozen restaurants and bars there. Since it is not at all a tourist area, even if the quality is not sensational, at least there is not much chance of being ripped off.

You can eat at both bars at night at Robert & Louise: the one upstairs and the one downstairs.
