2.5 days in Holland for a family of 7 (5 adults &2children)

Hello,

We are a family of 7 (5 adults & 2 children - 7&13 years old) and will be travelling from UK by car to Holland (3 days) from 7-10 May & followed by France 10-13 May ( 2 days Paris & Reims).

In Paris, we will be staying at the Novotel Paris Rueil Malmaison. Please can you suggest an itinerary for 2 days to cover historic and scenic locations.

Although we will be arriving into Paris by a 7 seater, we would prefer to use public transport/metro/bus within Paris - as I understand parking is a nightmare!

Please can you advise if we should buy Navigo Pass OR Paris Visit Pass or Mobilis pass OR any other pass for 2 days unlimited travel from our hotel into Paris city centre. ( I understand nearest station to hotel is RER station 'Rueil Malmaison' (Line A1)

I came across some places mentioned in the travel forum and need to understand what can be realistically covered in 2 days and in which order based on locations. Please can you advise what we can see in these places, so that we can make the most of our stay. We love photography - so any other recommendations are welcome!

1. Eiffel Tower

2. Jardins

3. Louvre

4. Sacre Coeur

5. Gallerie Lafayette

I look forward to your recommendations.

Thank you.

You may want to close this thread, and open a new one with the proper title. People who might have good answers for you might not open it as it doesn't on its face mention France, only Holland.

hi

just in case you do not repost. this is a travel plan to cover items on your list. this will be long full days if you want to see everything. First one to cross off the list would be Sacre Coeur because it is kind of hard to make it fit with your other must see.

day 1

From Rueiel-malmaison get to Charles de Gaule Etoile station on RER A which is the Arc de Triomphe. Come out at this point to take in the Arc and top end of Champs Elysee

Walk down the Champs towards Louvre to find Line M1 Station George V to get off at the Tuileries stop. (you do not want to walk all the way to the Louvre if you want to tour some of the Louvre)

In the Jardin walk towards the Louvre and look for a stair going down there is one on left and right side. It is just before the Arc de Carrousel this leads to an entrance to the Carrousel shopping Centre; which is a better entrance than going into the museum via the Pyramide entrance.

use this map for the metro/RER to get back www.ratp.fr/plan-interactif/carteidf.php…

day 2

same RER A to Etoile then find Abbesse or Pigalle to get the foot of Sacre Coeur come back down and find metro station Abesses to get to Gare St Lazarre on M12 then walk to Gallerie lafayette.

From Gallerie Lafayette walk to Opera look for metro M8 to Invalides transfer to RER C and stop at Alma which is before ET or Champs de Mars which is after ET.

to get back walk across the river to Place Tracadero for M6 to Etoile and transfer to RER A

Navigo pass does not work for 2 days. Get a couple of Carnet to start which are 10 tickets at reduced price; this can be used by everyone. buy as many as needed.

Paris Visite Pass is not a good deal. it is to be avoided. a Paris Museum Pass may work you need to do the calculation. http://en.parismuseumpass.com/

Mobilis is for a full day of travel for one person so I do not think it will work when you can share a carnet.

+ the 2 days could easily be reversed.
