Solo in Paris Today's New York Times

There is a big travel story in today's NY Times about traveling solo in Paris, a frequent topic in this forum. Hope this link works:

Thankyou for posting Rumples!

A lovely article, one I'll bookmark for others.

Loved this article, it articulated so eloquently what I felt after abandoning my overly ambitious itinerary to just wander and soak in the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the magic that is Paris.

All those that wander are not lost.

A list of addresses buried in a tremendous number of words. Who is saying SoPi?

Like most travel article in the NY Times, this one is the perfect illustration of VERBIAGE....for all we know she never went to Paris, only cut and pasted bits and pieces from travel guides, with additions from a thesaurus..One hope she wasn't paid by the word...

There is nothing practical for a single lady that has never been to Paris.

The perfect trip report has go to be the one from Julius Cesar....Veni, Vidi, Vici....It is usually Vidi, Vici, Veni..for me, but that another story.....

Yes, that's what I thought. It might as well have been titled "Redhead in Paris"

I think this article is typical advertising, written by someone who has a little more talent than most contributors to the NYTimes. She started off with an engaging premise, then did her job, as her editors instructed, and listed the same old places every press agent is touting these days. Call me cynical, I don't care - I just feel sad that more people will feel compelled to rush over to these establishments just because someone sold them a flimsy dream. Hemingway did a much better job.

she is not Hemingway and will not now get a Nobel Prize ..but if someone were to use some of her ideas, they might have a better time ..rue des Martyrs and Quai Branly Museum are not on everyone's list just yet :)

And here I thought this was going to be about the Star Wars exhibit.
