cdg val

I have a group of painters coming into CDG in two weeks. Most are arriving in Terminal 2D and three of them are arriving in Terminal 1. I have reserved a charter bus to take the group to Beaune. I could have the bus pick up people in T2 and then drive to T1 to get the other three. But that would delay our arrival in Beaune. Do you think that it's fairly simple to catch the CDG VAL for Terminal 2? Some of these people will have two valises. Will it be a problem getting their bags over to the CDG VAL and then onto the train? Would it be worth it to have them do that?

CDGVal was designed for travellers with luggages. So, there is no problem to take it with heavy luggages. In less than 10 minutes, they will arrive in the Terminal 2, near the TGV station.

In terminal 1, just follow the sign "to Terminal 2,3". More information on this website : easycdg.com/1/…

<<But that would delay our arrival in Beaune.>>

Why would this delay your arrival in Beaune? It takes maybe 3 minutes to drive from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. It would be a great deal easier to have the Terminal 1 people meet the bus at a specified door exit and pick them up there rather than have them find their way to the CDGVAL, take the train, and try to find you at Termianl 2D.

Sure the CDGVAL ride takes about 10 to 12 minutes to travel from end to end but there can be a 4-5 minute wait for the train and people carrying luggage and other special equipment will need to take elevators down to reach the CDGVAL and then back up to the arrival levels of Terminal 2.

My view is that your plan to have the Terminal 1 people come over to some point in Terminal 2 has the potential to cause far greater delay than than if they simply stay at a known greeting place in Terminal 1 and the bus swings by there to pick them up.

Generally the first people to arrive can easily go to where the last people to arrive will pop out of immigration. The CDGVal is designed for this sort of thing.

You did not say how far apart their arrival times are. If it is at least an hour, it would be stupid to just stand around waiting rather than going to a meeting point.
