Where to shop for linen in Paris

Hello,

We are renting an apartment in Paris the 4th arrondissement near the Pompidou Center and was wondering where we can go to buy reasonably priced linens. We have been to Paris a few times before but always stayed in hotels. There may be no problem, but just in case we would like to have an idea where we can get pillows, sheets, comforter, etc. and if it is better to bring it with us. We will be spending more than a month there and then will be renting other places throughout Europe. Some places may not come with linen. We will have Metro passes for zone 1 and 2 for our time in Paris and then a car after.

Thank you in advance for any tips.

There are many Monoprix stores throughout the city. You can buy some basic sheets, towels, etc. there. It's a bit like Target, only a little more pricey.

In the 4eme, you are quite close to BHV department store. They have an excellent home department.

BHV department store is near or in 4eme. Metro stop Hotel de Ville. Beautiful home goods there.

Probably more selection at Gallerie Lafayette. Less expensive goods at Carrefour/larger monoprix stores

If you're not looking for high thread counts and high quality, but just things to tide you over for a few weeks, I'd go with the inexpensive bedding you can find at Conforama on the right bank at Pont Neuf. The prices are considerably less expensive than the places mentioned above. Of course, if you have in mind beautiful linens that you can bring home as a souvenir afterward, then do check out BHV.

I would also suggest BHV - especially since they are changing out their linen selection, and have been running great sales. If you will be in Paris during the annual citywide sales, Galeries Lafayette Maison should have good deals.

If you plan on bringing linens from home, that's just one more thing to lug around. You should probably wait until you get here, check out the situation first, then go shopping. One tip - mattress and pillow sizes can vary a lot and are not quite the same as in the US. It's a good idea to buy flat instead of fitted sheets, too..

We went in a store called Zara Home that had a nice selection of sheets, comforter covers and the like. They have a web page you can go online and see what they have. The closest store to you would be in the 9th, at Madeleine.

We bought a duvet cover and pillow case set on a previous trip that is on our bed at home now, in Montmartre at Marché Saint-Pierre. I think stuff like this makes a great souvenir. They sold sheets as well.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. We will probably wait till we get there to buy linen if we need it as there seems to be many choices.
