Mistake in Train Ticket Passenger Name

I booked an SNCF M-ticket and I stupidly switched my first name and my surname, is that fine or is there something I have to do to correct it?

That sort of mistake is fine, you don't need to do anything

In some continental countries official documents put the family name first and then the forename but at the same time many people actually follow the opposite convention (as in the UK), so it isn't uncommon in a list of names to see some one way round and some the other (and it can be very confusing because which is which isn't always obvious).

Anyway you have absolutely no worries.

At worst, any inspector who notices will mutter about stupid tourists to colleagues.

Just returned from France last night. On neither Paris-Nimes or Nimes-Paris were we asked to show our passports--conductor just scanned bar codes. Actually, on the first trip during height of train strike, an "official" merely glanced at our tickets!
