Airport to Hotel Transportation

What is the most efficient and cost effective way to get from CDG to the Grand Hotel Francais at 223 Voltaires in the 11th Arr.? We are visiting Paris for the first time this fall and are not French speakers. Thank you.

If you are coming in after a flight from Chicago, please just to to the official taxi stand. Follow the signs and do not accept rides from "taxi drivers" who may approach you in the airport. They are not licensed and will probably overcharge you.

After the third person the taxi can add E3 to the fare for each additional passenger. They can also add E1 for each piece of luggage that goes in the trunk. These are normal and customary charges over and above what's on the meter.

Have your hotel address written on a piece of paper, including the zip code (75011). Some taxi drivers speak English, many don't.

If you are not jet lagged and coming in from nearby in Europe, you can consider taking the train, but for 3 or more people, you won't save that much over a cab.

I absolutely agree with /TracieKnits -

If you are a first-time visitor, and especially if you are arriving on a trans-Atlantic flight, you should not be concerned about pinching pennies. Taking a taxi as she explained will cost you about 55 EU, but it's the best money you will spend in Paris. You can economize during your trip by having a sandwich or crepes for lunch, now and then.

Spend the money on a taxi when you arrive, get to your hotel safely. When it's time to leave Paris, you could take the Metro/RER or the Roissy Bus, if you felt like it.

I agree about taking a taxi but there is a bus (#351) that leaves from CDG and makes a stop at Nation metro stop, which is one of the stops closest to your hotel.
