Getting from Paris(CDG) to Montpellier via TGV

I will arrive at Paris(CDG) at 9:25am on October 10,2014. I want to take the TGV to Montpellier but am confused about going through Lyon Part Dieu. Will I need to change trains and if so , how much time do I need to allow for that? Any help will be appreciated as I will be taking a night flight from Boston to Paris(CDG) and will be tired.

Why not take a direct train from Gare de Lyon? You can take the Air France bus from CDG to get there. Allow at least 4 hours from landing until your train departure.

You can use www.capitainetrain.com to book your train tickets.

Yes, you change trains in Lyon Part-Dieux. The train schedules show you how much time you'll have - 30 minutes, which is more than enough time. I might opt to take the 13:58 train, not the 11:58 train, even though it means hanging around the airport for awhile. My rule of thumb is at least 3 hours between landing and boarding a train at CDG. 11:58 is probably do-able, but I'd play it safe, especially if you buy a nonrefundable/nonexchangeable ticket.

Or, as F1racegirl says, go into Paris and take a direct train.

Thank you so much for your response. I am going to look at the Gare de Lyon schedule as it may give me more options.

It looks like the prices are better from Gare de Lyon. I'd probably go 1st class on the 15:15 train for 45 euros.

Well, there's a direct train from Roissy around 4 pm that's 55 euros, and since it costs close to 10 euros to get into Paris on the RER and about 17 euros to take the Air France bus, it's not really a savings. But the OP probably wants to be on his way before 4 pm.

Good point StCirq. I was looking at the earlier train that was about 150 euros - that's too much!

On capitainetrain I'm seeing the 16:58 train for 60 euros.

You're right. It's the same on the SNCF site. I could have sworn I saw 55 euros, but even if I did, it's now 60.
