You go to Disney-Paris by RER (train) and it takes about 45 minutes. Disney is not actually *in* Paris.

RER 'A-4' (heading in the direction of Marne La Vallee-Chessy--any 'A' train with a '..Q xxx..' designator) from the CHARLES deGAULLE-ÉTOILE station (nearest to Eiffel Tower #6 Metro ligne from Bir Hakim or walk), to the end-of the 'A-4' ligne at MARNE La VALLEE-CHESSY (DLP). Station is located near main DLP entrance. You may also purchase your DLP enttrance tickets at the same RER ticket kiosk thatyou purchase your train ticket. RER travel time is 46 mins--r.t. fare is 12,50 € or 12,30€ for a one-day MOBILIS Zone 1-5 transportation pass. During the week, trains frequency is approx -every-15 mins; on weekends 1-every-20 mins during most of the day and evening. Last Train back to Paris at approx 00:30 (12:30 AM)

Disney is about a 45 minutes train ride on the RER.

It is a very nice thing to do in the summer if you are a TRUE Disney fan. If not I would recommend you stay in Paris and enjoy that wonderful city.

It's interesting that my kids went to Disneyworld in the US after they had been to Europe. They weren't too impressed with Disneyworld--why go see and eat lunch in a fake castle after you've seen the real thing? (We've never gone to EuroDisney). It's a matter of personal preference and interests, but to me its a waste of time to go to Disney in Europe with all the other authentic things to see. But some folks are Disney fans and go to Disney someplace on every vacation. And maybe you are bribing the kids to get them to go to Europe at all by promising to include Disney as part of the package (?)

Why on earth do you want to go to Disneyland when you are in Paris and Europe, for crying out loud?... Oh, and rest assure, forget oysters, seafood, real bread and good quality french cuisine, there are plenty of MacDonalds in Paris too!

Hey AnArt27, you forgot to mention Starbucks.

eb556, you certainly do not need to rent a car to go to Disney from Paris. As mentioned, the RER A4 teminates there @ MARNE La VALLEE-CHESSY. (see link to map below, last station on the right on the A4 Line)

http://www.paris.org/Metro/gifs/rer01.map.jpg

Besides the CDG-Etoile Station, you could catch the RER A4 at Auber, Chatelet-Les Halles (Big and busy), Gare de Lyon, or Nation. You can reach all of those by metro or bus and there's large maps posted outside & inside all the metro stations for you to figure out which line/lines to take to your stop.

Alternatively, you could rent a car in Germany, and drive thru beautiful, forested Eastern France, the Champagne Region, and stay out near Disney at Bussy-St Georges or Marne La Vallee-Chessy and from there take the RER A4 into Paris.

(I mention renting a car in Germany because there's at least one firm that lets you leave the car in another spot without an extra fee. Don't know the name off-hand though.)

Most peole who have been to the Disney parks in Florida report being disappointed with the European version. Save your time and stay in Paris. "A couple of nights" will not begin to give you enough time to scratch the surface of what this city has to offer. A minimum visit that is only going to take in the top sights will need 5-6 days.

You do NOT want a car in Paris and, if you MUST go to Disneyland, you can get there easily by public transport.
