Narbonne x Béziers

We will be leaving Toulouse very early and we plan to spend that entire day in Carcassone, leaving the town after the sunset...

What would be the best one to overnight between Narbonne and Beziers?

Let´s consider we also want to take a walk an experience a bit of the choosen one in that following morning before head to Montpellier?

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure I understand your question, but there is not a lot between Narbonne and Beziers - it is about 15 minutes on the motorway.

Frankly, I would have spent the nignt in Carcassonne and found somewhere nice for lunch on the way to Montpellier the next day.

Do you mean overnight between Carcassonne and Beziers? If you want to stay in a very special place, have a look at Abbaye de Fontfroide :

http://www.fontfroide.com/home_page.htm

Click on "On the spot", then on 'gite".

They have a lovely "gite" near the Abbey. You'd have a little house to yourself..

Breakfast is available on request.

I could be wrong, but I think the OP is asking which town would be the better stopover - Narbonne or Béziers..

If you only have time for a morning stroll, I think I would have chosen Narbonne as it is smaller and more compact. Everything is there at your feet, the monuments, the market, the canal, the shopping streets.

Ok folks... It is not so clear.

My question is if it would be better to overnight in Narbonne or Béziers?

Agree with klimafly - Narbonne over Beziers.

Ok! Thank you all!

Pvoyageuse,

The Abbey seems really beautiful. I´ll probably make the visit and the wine tasting.

Thanks for posting.
