Aix or Arles?

We can spend two in either Aix or Arles (or any other town in that vicinity). Any recommendations? btw, thanks for the help on Lyon or Turin!

I urge you to opt for Arles. Why? Because Arles is full of wonderful Roman ruins and has several really good museums that focus on ancient art, as well as regional art and history. Also, if you will have a car, it is really well-centered for exploring the majority of the other wonderful places in western Provence.

I agree with the above recent experienced travelers. We've stayed in both in the past 2 years, Aix and Arles. We liked Aix. We totally love Arles .

Hard choice since I like them both... as I also like Avignon ^.^

But over the two I would definitely go to Arles ! I like the feel of this town. Walking in the historic center. The roman ruins. And lots of options near by as well.
