Car rental

How difficult would it be to rent a car for a day or two to tour around to the beaches on our own? We have never driven in France.

Driving in France is easier than driving in Massachusetts. Just watch your speed and the narrow roads. But the cars are smaller. If you can drive a manual you'll be fine.

No issues at all. If you can hire a diesel car for two very good reasons. 1. it is much cheaper to buy in France. 2. The cars tens to get way better mileage. Lastly be aware of holiday makers from the UK that sometimes drive on the wrong side of the road ;-)
