Tours in Giverny

We are going to be driving into Giverny on our way back from Normandy. We only have the day there as we need to be at the hotel at the airport that evening. This will be mid October. Do we need to pre-book a tour of Monet's house and the Museum ahead of time or can we just walk up and expect to get in? Thanks to anyone who can reply

When we went to Giverny we just wandered round by ourselves. It's not the kind of place you necessarily need a guide, and in October some of the crowds will have gone so hopefully you won't have much of a queue to get in. Certainly there are lots of gardens to explore and take your own time.

Hope your trip to Normandy goes well. In the autumn, Giverny should be a little quieter and Monet's Home and Gardens and the Musée des Impressionnismes are very easy to access from the car park.

Here is some general information about Giverny:

and here is a link to prebook your tickets to both sites, if you feel happier to do this in advance:

Bon voyage!
