We are travelling at the end of the week and have decided we don't really want a "ferry breakfast", but would like to stop about 30 minutes to an hour out of Le Havre, on our way to Les Andelys. We hope to cross the Seine by the Bac at Quillebeuf - a favourite of ours!

Can anyone recommend a good breakfast stop - preferably not a hotel.

1. Re: Breakfast

Basically any small restaurant in a town that is open will now do some form of breakfast. In the old days breakfast would simply be coffee and a piece of baguette with jam [rarely even with butter] but things are now better with more choice.

I do not know the place you mention but - if that is within the time frame - that might be good.

There is a difference in France - in my view - with cafes. These tend to be more basic with fewer facilities and more akin to a bar rather than somewhere to sit and eat.

You are so right to avoid the ferry breakfast!

On the quai that you can see from the ferry Ibeleive there is a café or two that would do breakfast. you have to double back a way from the ferry exit; the adress is quai de southampton.Once yu leave Le havre I don't have any suggestions.

Restaurants don't serve breakfast. They open at 12.
