Loire Valley Winery Tour

We are staying in Paris the last part of November and would like to take a day trip on November 18 or 19. We could take the bullet train to Tours and connect with a winery tour there, or book a tour that would pick us up in Paris. Any suggestions? It could include some castles, but we are really going for the wine. Thank you for your help.

Have you considered taking the TGV to Dijon and enjoying a tour from there. Bourgogne is perhaps better setup for vineyard visitors:

Many of the wine produces in the Touraine are small, family operations and being fairly fluent in French would make the experience more meaningful for you. Still I would take the TGV to Tours Centre, walking across the street to the Office de Tourisme and booking one of the tours departing from there (book in advance however).

To book the TGV for either location:

Try www.letastingroom.com for day winery tours in the Loire Valley. Pickups from Angers TGV station, only 1-1.5hrs from Paris on the fast trains. Great reviews on TA and run by a very professional, friendly couple.
