Picardie is a large, flattish area of Northern France, with a lot of WW1 sites and some important towns such as Laon - with a fantastic cathederal on the top of a hill, where the Kings of France were Crowned, until the coronation Ceremony was moved to Reims. Amiens - Home of writer Jules Verne and an important regional centre. Soissons, war torn town with two ancient cathederals and pleasant town centre. These websites might help a bit:

Where abouts are you staying?

Picardy is a fair size, about 220km by 130km, and goes from coastal beaches through rural farmland to large forests. Although mostly countryside there are sizeable towns, and the south is only 40km from central Paris.

Amiens has a fantastic cathedral, the largest gothic cathedral in France actually .

St Quentin has a beautiful museum about Quentin de la Tour pastels.

The Baie de Somme is nice with St Valery sur Somme and the Marquenterre wild bird park. I agree that you should let us know where exactly you are staying
