Towns/Villages not to miss

We've been to Provence a few times and have never ceased to be amazed at the beautiful villages.

We've been to: Apt, Il Sur La Sorgue, Gordes, Roussilon (sp), Pont du Garde, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Lacoste, St. Remy, Orange, Chateau NDP. Other than the big towns, what other villages do you recommend?

No need to add places on the coast like Cassis or Bandol as I think we're going to stay down there separately for a few days.

Thanks

Cucuron - though don't tell anyone else. If they ask just say you went to somewhere near Lourmarin.

For the extraordinary source of the Sourge River gushing from the earth, Fontaine de Vaucluse. A deceptively still pool which has never beed depthed, and water gushing from under rocks all along the river. Amazing and powerful.

While I agree that Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is wonderful in the Winter and Spring, when it is at its' most active, gushing nearly 33,000 gallons per second, it is far less interesting in the Summer and Fall, when the water flow is only about 160 cubic feet per second.

Hi Alpilles Gal, we have seen the source twice, both times in summer, late June/early July. The first time I think was perhaps a little lower, but the result was you could see the water spurting right out of the ground under the rocks along the river edge which was extraordinary. The second time was still very high as shown in the photos here.

It may depend on rainfall in the previous season or something.
