"Off the Beaten Path" Tour Group (Provence)

Hi All,

I am contemplating a tour of Provence with "Off the Beaten Path" (traveloffthebeatenpath.com/provencetour.html) and while their website and facebook page look legitimate, I am a little worried about the lack of reviews on TA or another travel forum for a company that has been in existence for so long.

If anyone has had any experience with this company, please let me know!

I do believe that the fact the owner of the company replying to the question is a proof that she is more than involved in her tour. Just because I think she's really doing a great job (and I didnt just sign up to answer this forum). I forgot to mention that she was around the region several time (last time was early sept) to check on everything and make sure her people were happy....

Christy's tours are indeed "off the beaten path," and with a small, intimate group. How often do you book a villa in the Pyrenees or a B&B in Bordeaux with an expert chef and wine maker!?!? This is no Holiday Inn with a big tour bus. Her tours are full of interesting people from all over the world. You should consider her unique tours if you have any desire to learn more about the different areas of France.

Our family of 4 with two adult sons have just returned from the Loire Vally trip with Christy and Off the Beaten Path. It was one of our favorite trips. Our sons loved it too!!! The combination of gorgeous chateaus with excellent and knowledgeable guides, and the cooking classes and meals with top Michilin chefs was fabulous!!! The hotel was confortable, perfectly locateded and we had the best rooms in the Chateau. Our two guides, Christy and Remy, stayed in the hotel with us.

Sometimes the best trips aren't necesarily the most well know. This company deserves to be! It's wonderful!!! After about 15 worldiwde trips including most continents, my sons ranked this one up near the top. Plus, 14 people in the group. We like small groups and good food and fabulous sights. This took the cake!! Would return in a flash!!

We have just returned from OTBP Provence. We were diappointed as were most of our group. The trip was grossly overpriced. We felt deceived. The reality was not what was advertised. One guide instead of two and he spent most of the time talking to the driver. The local tours consisted of a map and "good luck and enjoy". The exclusive Cassis boat trip was an 15Euro local tour with the ticket bought a the dock. (commentary in french only). The Cooking Class was excellent and a highlight. The food at the hotel was good but the wine rationed and nothing special. The final straw was on the last night when we were advised that the wine quota allocated for the week for Christy had been reached and we had to buy our own. This was a B grade trip at A grade prices. (and this was not our first French trip)

The reason why your post keeps getting removed is because it is not nice is it, to disparage ones own customers on a public forum. it does not say much for you or your business.

Besides, you are self promoting like mad in your post and that is against the rules of TA.

the community posting guidelines are found just above every text reply box in blue hypertext that says "Read our community guidelines" I can clearly see it as I type this.
