Are L'isle sur la sorgue Sunday markets open in January?

We have tried to visit markets in Eygalieres and Place Pie Avignon this week but neither we're open. Does anyone know if the Sunday markets in L'isle sur la sorgue are open in January? (Ie tomorrow!)

Yes the Sunday market operates year round from around 8 am to 1pm/2 pm.

Most food markets are open year round, you just need to be at the right market place on the right day. Here are the markets with the addresses in Avignon: http://www.jours-de-marche.fr/84000-avignon/

In Eygalières the market is on Friday mornings: www.jours-de-marche.fr/13810-eygalieres/

There are indeed no food markets on Place Pie, only an antiques market on Thursdays. http://www.avignon.fr/fr/pratique/marche/ Today the market was on Boulevard Limbert. There were food markets all week in Avignon (except Mondays of course as is the case all over France), at different places each day of the week.

In Eygalières it is supposed to be on Place de la Mairie (in the morning only) on Fridays. But I am not there so I don't know what to tell you other than the site I linked to in post #2 is usually very reliable.

If you are still in Avignon, tomorrow the market will be on Place des Maraîchers in case you are not sure about L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Hopefully a local will know for sure.

TMBHL, you can't just lope into town somewhere and expect there to be a market. There are firm schedules for markets in every village, town, and city in France, and for the most part they are good year-round. Many of these markets have been held on exactly the same schedule since medieval times. For example, the market in Le Bugue has been held every Tuesday since 12.. something. You need to do your research ahead of time to know when and where they are held. The info is easily googled for any place in France.

Wow StCirq, perhaps you didn't read my post, but we didn't just lope into town and expect a market to materialise. We went to Eygalieres on Friday morning, specifically for the market as per the schedule and the village was dead quiet, with no market in sight. Place Pie was not such a big deal as we're staying in Avignon and wandered past on our way to the Palace of the Popes as the owner of our apartment told me there would be a market there today. I was wondering if perhaps the schedules change in January, as we certainly noticed that many of the wineries we called in at were closed in January.

Thanks Mrs French Mystique for your help.
