My boyfriend and I are planning our honeymoon for August 2015.
We will be arriving from London to Paris and are planning on staying in Paris for 2 nights. Then we would like to travel down to Provence.
We have been to the South of France many many times as children (separately) and so the idea is to recreate our childhood memories... only this time in posh hotels rather than campsites!
We are planning on 1 week in Aix and 1 week in Arles. We have considered and are still open to all other places eg. Nimes, Avignon. However, research has suggested that Aix and Arles will suit our desires for good food, history, markets, late night relaxed drinking as well as day trips to the Pont-du-Gard etc. We do like it to be lively in the evenings but in a relaxing, wandering streets and drinking outside rather than rowdy Irish bars.
Usually we are very keen just to take a chance, but as it is our honeymoon, I would be grateful if anyone could just confirm that 2 nights Paris, 1 week Aix, 1 week Arles is a) practical and b) suitable for what we are looking for.
