Moyenne Corniche between Nice and Eze Village

My husband and I will be staying in Nice in early June and would very much like to visit Eze Village. We will have a car and would expect to drive there, however I am apprehensive about the visit given the following concern. While I understand the views can be wonderful, I am *absolutely terrified* of driving on high cliffside roads with hairpin turns. As much as I'd love the beautiful views, I simply cannot do it. My initial plan was to see Eze in the afternoon, have dinner there and then continue on to Monte Carlo for the Casino afterwards, however, I've since gotten a glimpse of the Eze Viaduct and realized there's not a chance I can do that. My question is, if we forget about Monaco and go solely to Eze, what is the section of road like between Nice and Eze Village? It's not heights per se that are the problem (I've done Ravello with no problem) so I think I would enjoy the view once inside of the village. My issue is the narrow road close to the cliff edge, low or no guard rails and hairpin turns. I'd also like to confirm that the Viaduct is on the section towards Monaco and not Nice (or is it on both sides?) If we skip Eze entirely, can we take the A8 to Monaco and avoid the corniches altogether? Thanks!

If it's any consolation, missing the drive up to Eze-village will also allow you to skip the narrow stairs that lead up to the top. I thought those were about as scary as the road.

@ Catullus... lol! Definitely a consolation... :-) (I was probably never going to the top anyway.)
