A friend told me about Menton where she got beautiful colored stones. Is this true?

What in the world are you talking about?

Buying stones in a store?

Picking them up on a beach?

Are you referring to sea glass ?- if so it can be found on beaches all along the Riviera, if you look for it.

They would be green brown blue and crystal 'stones' formed by the sea's action on beer and wine bottles? Green is very common, blue rarest -people collect them and put them in glass jars. Don't be tempted to take sacks of beach pebbles as they are protected.

You can also find coral but this is very rare.
