Walk from Train Station to Hotel Solara?

We will arrive at the train station in Nice on a Wednesday around 4pm. Would it be an easy walk to Hotel Solara at 7 Rue de France? We will each have a small rolling suitcase. Looking at a map it seems very doable but not sure of hills, steps, condition of walks etc.

If not is there a bus near the train station we could take?

It's pretty much doable. The road always goes gradually down the hill. Will take you around 20 minutes to get there.

Turn left out of station and walk 2 mins down avenue Thiers then take the tram from gare theirs stop to massena stop ,[one euro, get ticket from the machine, validate on tram] then walk along rue massena and rue de france which joins on

Walking your best bet would be to turn left out of the station , cross road and turn right down rue paganini [luggage shop and asian bufftet on each corner,] , alophonse karr and into place magenta, then turn right along rue massena /rue de france. [this avoids the underpass and stairs ] road slopes gradually down towards sea - 20 mins or so, depending on how fast you walk. sidewalks/pavements are narrow -just stop and let folk pass or they will stop and let you pass -say merci
