Train or 100 Bus to Nice?

I am planning to spend Thursday 18 July travelling from Nice to Monaco in the early afternoon. I have made several revisions to my schedule and I think that I will aim to leave Nice Ville Station on the 1:55 train or the Seguraine bus stop at about the same time. The pro argument for taking the bus is that we could disembark at Place d'Armes bus stop--not far from Crock 'in (2 rue de la Princess Caroline) where we could get a quick bite and the Palace Square where we intend to go next. However, the bus ride from Nice is a long one and, since we're leaving in the afternoon, we would be competing with many other tourists for scarce bus seats. The train would take us to Monte Carlo quickly and comfortably but we'd then have to find our way across town, presumably on another bus. Suggestions???

It will only take you 2 minutes to find Place d'Armes if you take the correct exit from Monaco's huge cavern of an underground station. This is the one towards the Rocher (Rock)where the Palace is. Many take the bus for the scenery but the train is just as great , especially when you stunningly emerge from the tunnel to see beautiful Villefranche below you.

You can take bus no.1 from the Palace rock to the Casino Square to complete your trip.

Thank you Ed. I'll paste your response right into my notes! Looks like the train is the way to go.
