Train from Nice to Florence?

Hello all,

I'm going to be going to Florence in March to visit my girlfriend who is studying there for the semester. We want to go an spend a couple of nights in Nice. I looked at italianrail.com and they suggest going from Florence to Ventimiglia, and then picking up the train to Nice at the Ventimiglia station. Does anyone know how late the trains run to Nice? For a few reasons, we might not be able to leave from Florence until 3 or 3:30 which means we wouldn't get to Ventimiglia until 9:30 or 10. Do the trains still run to Nice at that time(it'll be a Thursday night)? What time do they stop?

On many versions of the SNCF website ( e.g. http://en.voyages-sncf.com/en/ ) you cannot enter Ventimiglia as your departure station, you must enter 'Vintimille', and print-at-home is not available. You can buy Ventimiglia-Nice tickets at staffed station booking offices in Florence or elsewhere in Italy at the French price, or more expensively online from Rail Europe. To see the timetable in one click (but you need some French to understand the essential notes) see …ter-sncf.com/Images/Paca/Tridion/FH_04_Mand…

It can sometimes be faster to go from Florence to Ventimiglia via Milan rather than the shorter distance route through Pisa and Genoa, though more expensive unless booked far in advance. On both www.italiarail com and www.trenitalia.com you must purchase the legs from Firenze S. M Novella to Milano Centrale and from there to Ventimiglia separately if using this route.
