Monaco to Nice

What would be the best way to get from the Riviera Marriott Monaco to Hotel Le Petit Trianon in Nice? The best economical way! If you could give me bus or train stops that would help tremendously.

Hello,

The best economical way is only advisable if you aren't carrying a lot of suitcases.

Ask about the free shuttle service to Monaco at Riviera Marriot hotel (maybe you'll have to book it) and if it's possible to drop you off near a stop for the bus n° 100. Bus n° 100 won't stop near Hotel Le Petit Trianon, so you'll need to take another bus or tram to get there. When you get on the bus, tell the driver the following: "Nice avec une correspondance" and pay them 1,50€. He or she'll give you a paper ticket (it looks a bit like a credit card receipt) and a normal ticket. Don't throw away that paper ticket because if there are any ticket inspectors, they'll ask for it.

The journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the traffic and you have to get off at the last stop, which is the stop "Garibaldi" (on Rue Cassini) next to Place Garibaldi. From there, you can take bus n° 7, n° 3, n° 10, n° 9 and get off at stop "Grimaldi" (on Place Grimaldi). Validate your normal ticket (the one you got when taking bus n° 100) at the machine onboard. If you decide taking the tram instead, you have to walk up to the tram stop "Garibaldi" and take it the one on the direction of Henri Sappia, then get off at "Massena" tram stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to your hotel. Use Google Maps if you need to visualize it or for street directions.

Thanks for all the detailed info! We will have quite a bit of luggage and this seems pretty complicated. Maybe we should spend some money on a taxi. Do you know approximately what a taxi would cost from the Riviera Marriott in Monaco to Le Petit Trianon in Nice? Thank you!

I can only tell you that a helicopter flight costs the same. You should order a limousine/minivan service.

There's a lot to be said for "door to door" service when you are hauling luggage. When our travel budget is tight, we find other places to cut. This won't give you the cost from one hotel to another, but the airport website will give you an idea of what the estimated fare for a taxi between Monter Carlo and Nice::

…aeroport.fr/Passengers/…Taxis

The airport is out from the center of Nice, but this will give you an idea of a range you can expect.

I'm not sure I'd travel by helicopter as you would have to get from where the helicopter lands to your hotel, a transfer that I don't think will be included in the helicopter rate, but for a comparison to taxi fares, do at tplus suggests and research car services.

take the train from monaco to Nice ville. Although the train is more expensive than the bus you can store your luggage easily. The bus has little storage space. There is really no need to get a taxi. The train journey is direct and staightforward. Perhaps just get a taxi from Nice train station to your hotel. No helicopters required!

Thanks to all of you for your responses! Right now we are leaning towards taking the train and then a taxi. If we wanted to walk with our bags from the train stop would that be very far to our hotel?

least walking using the trains would be free hotel shuttle to monaco station , get train to Nice Riquier, then bus number 7 from outside to stop Grimaldi.

if you use bus 100 and have a lot of luggage you will be liable for excess baggage fees beyond the first case and carry on. 1 euro to -5euros if the bags are large
