For Nice to Paris, Nice to Antibes and Nice to Ventimiglia (on the way to Genoa) see https://www.capitainetrain.com - don't book Nice-Antibes or Nice-Ventimiglia in advance, most trains are TER local trains with no reserved seats and no advance reductions. Book Nice-Paris in advance for the best fares, but you have to pay at the time of booking - you can't pay later..

From Ventimiglia to Genoa (Genova Piazza Principe) see www.trenitalia.com clicking the UK flag first for English. Use a date this week to see the fares on Regional trains without reserved seats. There are advance reductions on Intercity trains with reserved seats.. Times are available until June 13, and show substitute buses to bypass a landslide which is currently blocking the track. Repair works should be completed by June, and direct trains resume.

Capitainetrain is not showing trains from Nice to Ventimiglia, perhaps because these are running on a temporary timetable due to tunnel repairs. Use en.voyages-sncf.com/en/ instead.

The bus from Nice to Antibes costs 1.5 euro and it goes every 15 minutes (no.200). Pay the driver when you get on. But I don't recommend it over the slightly dearer train. Overcrowded , hot and very slow -in traffic it can take an hour and a half -3x that of train. The road is not very scenic while the train runs along the sea for most part.

For the best prices on on the fast trains, book as far ahead as possible. Tickets go on sale 3 months before travel in France, usually 4 months in Italy, and the cheapest tickets often sell out quickly. Discounted ticket prices keep going up as the travel date gets closer.

Trenitalia has a timetable change on 15 June, and train times after that date are not yet decided. Based on experience in past years, the times probably will not be available until mid-April or even May. You just have to keep checking the Trenitalia web site.

hi Perilizia - Just wanted to make sure I understand your response. We are planning to take several day trips using the TER trains when we travel to Nice in two weeks. There isn't a weekly pass we should buy, but rather, just buy tickets for each trip.

Correct?

thanks!

There is no weekly pass, and no day pass this time of year. For TER trains, buy point-to-point tickets at the train station.
